Happy Fall everyone! This time last year we were in our mountain ski condo where I normally decorated our mantel and fireplace with pumpkins and fall decor galore. This year we are renting, so not only am I looking for little nooks and crannies that I can make more festive, but I am also looking for decor that I can transition from season to season with ease.
If you do have a mantel, switching it up from holiday to holiday and season to season is a great way to change up your decor. If you don’t pick another space in your home that can house your seasonal changes and act as your faux mantel. For me, this was a little desk in our living room that we never really sit at. (And if we need to, there is still room to work even with the fall decor.)
I like to decorate with various textures, so I layered this fall print with bumpy pumpkins, large fall leaf garland and dripping candles. I snagged this adorable print from Etsy (find it here). This decor is fall-related so I can leave it up well into Thanksgiving and then make some simple swaps for Christmas.
I even played with the heights by swapping out different pumpkins and changing what I stacked on the serving stand. You can’t go wrong with what you choose! By layering items, textures and heights, it creates neat visual interest and dimension.
My favorite thing about this fall decor is that you can use things you already have or find it all at a low price. Use picture frames, candles, serving trays or boxes that you already have. Grab some foliage off of your trees! I love to repurpose things I already have in my home! This helps save money and cuts down on things I have to store later!
When I want to swap out this look for Christmas, I’ll swap the orange candles for white and change the print. Voila! If you want to see my fall neutral finds that you can keep up all season long, check out my post here!
